2012 Chengdu International Econometrics Conference
The Research Institute of Economics and Management of Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and The Journal of Applied Econometrics (JAE, http://jae.wiley.com/ ) are jointly sponsoring the “2012 Chengdu International Econometrics Conference in Honor of Professor Cheng Hsiao”, which will take place in Chengdu, China from May 26 to May 27, 2012.

The university is located in Chengdu, China. Over 14 million in population according to the 2010 census and flight time of 2 hours from Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong, this mega city is the gateway to major southwest China tourist attractions and ranked very high among the most liveable cities in China. Among its own top attractions are spicy cuisine (especially hotpot), tea drinking life style and natural beauty abounds in surrounding areas.
Finally, the Chengdu Panda Breeding and Research Center which is home to many giant pandas is located close to the conference site and is a very popular destination for visitors.
